HomeSwapper is the largest mutual exchange service in the UK and over 70% of new members are matched automatically to one or more potential swaps within 24 hours. This service is provided by Scout Solutions Limited on behalf of whg and other social landlords and your chance of finding a swap is increased by the fact that:

• HomeSwapper has over 112,000 members (as at 01/07/09) and growing.
• there are 493 participating landlords
• 12,000 tenants have exchanged in last 12 months; 80 of them in Walsall
• Any tenant from any social landlord can register and the service is free for whg tenants and other social landlords tenants in Walsall. 
• You can swap with tenants of any registered social landlord, not just whg
• HomeSwapper covers all of the UK, so you can find swaps locally or nationally.

what are the rules about home swapping (exchanging)?

If you are an assured tenant of whg you may be able to move by exchanging with another tenant who has the type of home you want in the area you want to move to.

If you find someone who wants to exchange with you, you must get permission before you move. Please contact us as soon as possible for advice and information. We have 42 days from the date we receive your completed form to make a decision on your application. 

You have the right to exchange with the tenant of a Council or Housing Association anywhere in the UK.

We can only defer or refuse your exchange if you or the person you want to exchange with:-

• has rent arrears
• is in breach of the tenancy agreement
• would be moving to a home that would be unsuitable. For example, the home is too large, too small or has medical adaptations that you or they do not need.

Please note that there are two forms on the bottom of this page

• the whg HomeSwapper form can only be used by whg tenants
• the blank HomeSwapper form is available to other social landlord tenants but free registration is only available if those landlords are registered with Homeswapper. Contact your housing provider for further guidance.
